Transferring a customer from a Google Workspace reseller to direct billing with Google is a common requirement when businesses prefer to manage billing independently. This process is called "Transfer to Google Direct", and involves generating a Transfer Token that allows Google to take over billing and administration from the reseller.
Notify the customer that they will be moved to direct billing with Google. Make sure they understand that:
Future billing will be handled by Google directly.
Access and services will remain unchanged.
A valid payment method must be added to their admin console after the transfer.
Ask the customer to go to the following official Google link:
? https://tools.google.com/dlpage/transferconsole
Login with their Super Admin Google Workspace account.
Enter the Google Reseller ID (if prompted).
Click Generate Transfer Token.
Share the token with you (the partner or Google support).
Now either:
The reseller submits the token to Google Partner support to release the account.
Or the customer contacts Google support directly and provides the token.
Google will process the request, and the domain will be moved to direct billing in a few business days.
Once the transfer is complete:
Login to admin.google.com.
Navigate to Billing > Subscriptions.
Add payment method and confirm billing cycle (monthly or yearly).
No data or email is lost during this transition.
Admin roles and user accounts remain the same.
Any third-party integrations continue to work.
