How to Enable Two-Step Verification in Google Workspace

Two-Step Verification (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to Google Workspace accounts. Even if someone knows the password, they cannot log in without the second verification code.

Steps to Enable 2-Step Verification

  1. Sign in to Admin Console.

  2. Go to Security β†’ Authentication β†’ 2-Step Verification.

  3. Click Allow users to turn on 2-Step Verification.

  4. You can also enforce 2FA for all users.

User Setup

Users can enable it by going to:

Account β†’ Security β†’ 2-Step Verification

They can choose:

  • Google Authenticator

  • SMS code

  • Security key

Benefits

  • Prevents unauthorized access

  • Protects company emails

  • Stops phishing attacks
